Ronald McDonald House Charities was established in 1984 in memory of McDonald’s Corporation founder, Ray A. Kroc, who strongly believed in community commitment. The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the New York Tri-State Area (RMHC-NYTSA) is committed to carry on Ray’s philosophy and fulfilling RMHC’s mission to lift children to a better tomorrow.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the New York Tri-State Area is working to better the lives of children and their families in our community, by creating and supporting programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children in the areas of health, education, the arts, and civic and social services. Since 1992, RMHC-NYTSA has provided more than ten million dollars to local organizations whose programs improve the well-being of children and their families.

RMHC-NYTSA relies on the support of individuals and various organizations in our community through local fundraising and in-kind donations, to continue its mission. Two of our long-time supporters have been McDonald's Corporation and McDonald’s Owner/Operators who continue to give their support through national and local promotions, and by serving as Trustees on the RMHC board. A major source of RMHC’s funding is the RMHC canister collection program, which relies on customers depositing their change in RMHC canisters placed at McDonald’s restaurants. RMHC-NYTSA is also able to bring additional funding to our community through a matching grants program with National RMHC.
